Integrated Programme (IP) vs O-Level Programme (OP)

The Integrated Programme (IP) is designed for the top 10% of PSLE students. Unlike OP by which students are required to take the GCE O level examinations at the end of their four to five year secondary school journey, IP students bypass the O level examinations and take their next major examination - GCE Advanced Level (A level) at the end of their six-year integrated programme in Junior College or Senior High.


IP was launched with the intent to offer a frictionless secondary and junior college education, thereby giving students time and space to develop intellectual curiosity and other talents.


The IP was first introduced in 2004 and is now offered by 18 schools:


Leading to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

  • Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)

  • Methodist Girls' School

  • St. Joseph’s Institution

Leading to the GCE Advanced Level

  • Catholic High School (with Eunoia Junior College)

  • Cedar Girls' Secondary School (with Victoria Junior College)

  • CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School (with Eunoia Junior College)

  • Dunman High School

  • Hwa Chong Institution

  • Methodist Girls' School (with Anglo-Chinese School (Independent))

  • Nanyang Girls' High School (with Hwa Chong Institution)

  • National Junior College

  • Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) (with Raffles Institution (Junior College))

  • Raffles Institution (Secondary) (with Raffles Institution (Junior College))

  • River Valley High School
